FAQ

Q: Why should I choose Makeup New England?

Makeup New England is a small team of professional hairstylists and makeup artists who will provide you with luxury, onsite beauty services.  Each stylist and artist are vetted to ensure that you receive the same professionalism, quality of service, and fun that has made Kelly and her team one of the most sought after artists and now teams in the New England area.  Not only can they work interchangeably but each member of the team also offers a unique specialty.  If you have a specific need, rest assured that you will be matched with just the right artist/stylist who will see to it that your needs are met and exceptions exceeded.  We absolutely love what we do!

Q: What can I expect when I book Makeup New England for my date?

In order to secure your date a signed contract and retainer is required.  Once those are completed you can breathe easy knowing that you have one less thing to worry about.

Kelly will send you a few questionnaire's to fill out so we have all the information needed to create your desired look. She will also create a custom hair and/or makeup schedule for your day.  Kelly is a bit of a schedule fanatic! Making sure you and your party are ready to walk down the aisle not a moment later than promised, while never being rushed is a point of pride!  Regardless of which artist/stylist you will be working with on your wedding day, Kelly will always be your first point of communication and prides herself on her quick reply's.   Feel free to reach out at any time, for any reason and she will get back to you typically within the hour or sooner but definitely within 24 hours.

Q: How far do you travel?

We are happy to travel anywhere in the world for our clients.  Travel fees, airfare, hotel accommodations, etc... are the responsibility of the client.  Please inquire within for your unique quote.

Q: Do you work with the LGBQT+ community!

ABSOLUTELY!  We stand proud with the LGBTQ+ community and would be thrilled to be a part of your day!

Q: What size party can you accommodate?

The more important question is, "What time does everyone need to be ready by?"

Assuming that timing is not an issue than each of our makeup and/or hairstylists can accommodate 6-7 persons comfortably.  Kelly and Tracy are happy to accommodate up to 9 personally.

If you have an early wedding or if timing is a concern then we would send the appropriate number of artists/stylists to fit your needs.  Keep in mind that each stylist/artist may have a minimum number of services that needs to be met.

We currently have a team of 4 makeup artists and 5 hair stylists.

Q: What products do you use?

Makeup is not a one-size fits all product.  For that reason, we carry a plethora of products, some you may have heard of like; Dior, Marc Jacobs, MAC, Natasha Denona, Tarte and many more.  Others are mostly only known in the world of Pro-artists like RCMA, Face Atelier, Senna, Graftobian and more.  All of our products are tried and tested to give YOU the best results possible.

Q: Do you offer Male Grooming?

YES! Men want to look their very best too!  We are proud to be one of the few wedding beauty companies in the area that offer both hair and cosmetic grooming for men!  Need more info on male grooming and what it actually entails? Please reach out!

Q: Do you offer touch-up services before and after photos and ceremony?

We would be happy to stay as long as you'd like.  Please inquire about pricing for this service.

Q: Do you have experience working with Asian women, specifically women with monolids?

This is actually one of Kelly's Niche's!  Kelly is one of the few artists in the area who can correctly and expertly create a flawless look!

Q: How soon should I secure my date?

Prime wedding season is considered May - November in New England.  If you are getting married during these months it is best to secure our services as soon as possible.  Some brides book 2 years in advance to guarantee their spot on our calendar.  It's never too early.  Prices may go up at anytime, but if you are booked, your prices are locked in!

Q: How long will my makeup last?

Using only the highest quality cosmetics, tools and techniques we take extreme pride in saying that your makeup (besides lipstick) will last you the entire night.  We often have brides reach out to us the next morning to say that they all still look great and are heading to brunch!!!

Q: Do I need a trial?

Pre-Wedding consultations are not required but highly suggested.  Your appointment will be approximately 60-90minutes per service.  This is where we will fine tune your desired look to make sure that you get exactly what you've envisioned.

Q: Do you have a minimum number of services that must be met?

Yes and no.  All Saturdays during prime wedding season (May-Nov) will be subject to a minimum.  Please inquire about your specific date to see if there is a minimum requirement.

Q: Do you have experience in working with women of color?  Where are those pictures?

Kelly and Natalie both have extensive experience working with people of all ages, skin colors, tone and texture.

While working under a Boston agent Kelly would regularly work with the local T.V. Show "Basic Black" as well as several other opportunities that were provided.  Posting pictures of work that was done while working under someone else's name (Brand) would be unethical as those photos technically belong to her agent.  With that said, we would be thrilled to work with you and diversify our online portfolio.  Please reach out to Kelly to have your specific questions answered and concerns alleviated.
